more Missouri

Oct. 30th, 11:30 pm. This is a Road Ranger gas station and mini mart in Dixon, Missouri. It's so dark, even on the highway, that we start to wonder about mythological creatures ( or real ones ). There is some kind of a panther that howls in the night in Missouri. After my daughter found that on the internet, I began to imagine a giant panther jumping onto the hood of the truck.

Missouri

Oct. 30th, 9:30 pm. This is Eureka, Missouri. I expected to cross the Mississippi over a dramatic bridge, but we were so busy staring at the St. Louis Arch, lit up at night, that I really didn't notice a bridge, except an ordinary-looking one to our right. We like to watch for the sign that says welcome to our state, as we know that means we're closer to our goal--California.
